February In Review

It’s late, I know, but hey at least I have time to do this right now. February is a short month, which is great because I didn’t see many movies during the month.

I know nothing about the video and that was okay with me. Honestly the story behind the movie being made is the reason I seen it. This movie shows that there are still people out there who want to see the movies that don’t have the backing of the large(er) movie production companies. The script is lacking – due to it being based on a video game. I do have to say when shit hits the fan, it really does. The blood is what I still think about.

I was excited for this since they announced it. That excitement lasted through the movie. The 28 films are about so much more than just a zombie virus, there’s so much emotion and just making people reflect on their humanity (or lack of). The one thing I’ve always liked about this films as well is following (at least) two groups (or communities) and seeing what each group has to deal with and how they’re trying to make it through.

I have no idea why I haven’t watched this one sooner. The movie poster is one I remember seeing as a child. I highly recommend Cape Fear, if you haven’t seen it before. Robert DeNiro’s character is genuinely scary. I also did not realize this was a Martin Scorsese movie until it was over and I was just looking up general information about it.

Whistle

There are some unique kills, but honestly this movie is just Final Destination with a whistle involved. It would be a good gateway horror (even though it is rated R).

I think this movie will teach you have to be a good friend. Not really, but it is a wild watch. The ending is the craziest part of the whole movie.

I thought I was going into a movie that was just going to be a usual zombie movie. This was not. It explores a relationship on the rocks, trying to save it and finding yourself in the middle of a virus outbreak. I feel odd saying this, but the ending is very heartwarming…yes an ending to a virus outbreak movie is heartwarming.

The concept for this film is great, I love it. With that said, it felt like a weird fever dream. The main character in the movie is just so over the top.

This is the type of “What the fuck” movie I LOVE! If you like movies that are just flat out crazy – in a funny way – this one is for you. I also love a good exorcism scene.

I always give Shudder films a chance, this one I don’t think I should have. Yet again, the concept is good, but I personally feel it is lacking a little.
